Manchester City have a daunting trip to the Spanish capital to face Real Madrid as Jose Mourinho's side look to bounce back from a dismal start to their domestic campaign. Roberto Mancini's men are 4/1 (5.0) shots to start their Champions League journey with a seemingly unlikely victory.

Tuesday also sees Arsenal handed an away tie, albeit they are more fancied to get a result than their Premier League counterpart, priced as they are at 5/4 (2.25) for a win away at Montpellier who have also stuttered domestically so far. German frontman Lukas Podolski is 11/2 (5.50) to score first, as is Olivier Giroud, who returns to face his former club after departing for the Gunners this summer.

Wednesday sees three matches involving British teams. Celtic are 5/2 (3.50) outsiders to claim a home win against Benfica, who are 23/20 (2.15) to start their Champions League campaign with a victory.

Chelsea may attract plenty of support, priced as they are at 6/5 (2.20) to beat Juventus at Stamford Bridge. Fernando Torres is an 11/2 (6.50) shot to open the scoring while Frank Lampard, who has been in fine goalscoring form for club and country recently, is 15/2 (8.50) to break the deadlock.

Manchester United may be cornerstones of most people's accumulators on Wednesday night, Sir Alex Ferguson's men are 1/3 (1.33) to record a win at Old Trafford over Turkish side Galatasaray.

Robin van Persie looks set to make his first Champions League start for United and he's available at 3/1 (4.0) to score first, fellow new signing Shinji Kagawa has experience in this competition with former club Borussia Dortmund and the Japanese international is a 7/1 (8.0) shot to open the scoring.

Paddy Power will refund losing first goalscorer, last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast bets if the match ends as a draw.
