Aaron Callaghan's Bohs will be in confident mood ahead of Sunday's clash with Martin Russell's struggling side but Willie Duncan thinks that the Students can spring a surprise
The Bohs are chalked up as Bet365’s 8/11 (1.73) favourites to see off the challenge of Martin Russell’s side while the Students are priced up at 17/4 (5.25) with Bet365 to record what would be their first away success of the season so far this weekend. The same firm go 12/5 (3.40) that the match ends in a draw.
While UCD have secured three draws in their seven away matches this term, they are still looking for their first win but more worrying for Russell is the fact that his side have been poor defensively this term, having conceded 25 goals in their 15 outings thus far.
Bohemians, though, have managed just 16 goals in 15 matches so far this term themselves so it comes as little surprise that Bet365 go just 8/11 (1.73) that fewer than three goals are scored when these sides meet.
Another concern for Aaron Callaghan’s side is that they may suffer from a little fatigue having had to come through a tough match against Thor Akureyri in the Europa League on Thursday night.
A low scoring encounter looks to be on the cards here and the 11/2 (6.50) at Bet365 for the Bohs to win 1-0 represents decent value here while UCD fans will be keen to snap up the chunky 11/1 (12.0) quote from the same firm for the Students to win 1-0 at Dalymount Park.
Despite their lowly league position, UCD have shown that they are capable of making life difficult for their opponents on the road this term. Therefore, the 0-0 draw, chalked up at 8/1 (9.0) with Bet365, is worthy of support here, especially if the Bohs are to show any signs of tiredness in the wake of their midweek exertions and the Students should not be dismissed lightly.
