thumbnail Hello,

After notching a well-priced double on Thursday's Euro 2012 matches, Willie Duncan expects Laurent Blanc's men to bring co-hosts Ukraine back down to earth with a bump

Co-hosts Ukraine will look to build on their impressive victory over Sweden by securing their place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2012 with a victory over Laurent Blanc’s France on Friday.

Ukraine showed tremendous fighting spirit to come from a goal down to stun the Swedes on Monday night with talismanic striker Andriy Shevchenko making himself the toast of Kiev with a superb second-half double.

France also came from behind in their Group D opener when Samir Nasri struck to cancel out Joleon Lescott’s opener for England.

Unlike Ukraine, though, France were unable to capitalise on their equaliser fully and were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

Ukraine might have home advantage but it is Blanc’s side, on a 22-match unbeaten run, who go into this clash as favourites with PanBet pricing up the French at 11/10 (2.10) to pick up all three points.

Ukraine are rated as a 29/10 (3.90) chance with PanBet to grab a second successive victory while the same firm go 12/5 (3.40) that the match ends all square.

Blanc’s men were slow to get started against England but, with a partisan home crowd roaring Ukraine on, France will be eager to silence the fans as quickly as possible and may come out of the blocks quickly and as such, PanBet’s 51/50 (2.02) quote for France to net at any time in the first half is great value and should be snapped up by punters.

Similarly, PanBet’s 47/20 (3.35) quote for France to lead at both half-time and full time looks to represent outstanding value as Ukrainian passion may not prove to be a match for France’s abundantly talented pool of players.

Those seeking more value may be tempted to back a correct score and PanBet offer 29/5 (6.80) for Blanc’s side to squeeze home 1-0. Far more appealing, though, is the 17/2 (9.50) quote from PanBet for France to win 2-0 and that price is worthy of smaller stakes support.

France to score in the first half at 51/50 (2.02) with Pan Bet
France to win 2-0 at 17/2 (9.50) with Pan Bet
