thumbnail Hello,

The Accumulator: Southampton vs Coventry, West Ham vs Hull and the four other games that could see you win big this weekend

With the season drawing to a close there are several teams still with plenty to play for in each division and Al Hain-Cole has drawn up a 14/1 six-fold for Saturday's action

FIRST BET
CHAMPIONSHIP
Southampton
VS
Coventry
Forecast:
HOME WIN
West Ham
VS
Hull City
Forecast:
HOME WIN

With champions Reading already having secured promotion to the Premier League, second-placed Southampton will be desperate to make sure they join the Royals by beating already relegated Coventry. The Saints slipped up in their last game against play-off chasing Middlesbrough, but should be confident of gaining the necessary three points to guarantee promotion against a side with nothing but pride to play for. The Sky Blues' poor away form has been instrumental in their demise this season, having lost 15 out of 22 games on the road. Conversely, Southampton have won 15 of their 22 at home, and should have no trouble in making it 16 on Saturday to seal a return to the Premier League after a seven-year absence.

West Ham will be keeping one eye on events at St Mary’s and will want to make sure that they are there to capitalise on any Southampton slip-ups. The Hammers can leapfrog the Saints into the second automatic promotion spot in the event of a Coventry victory by beating Hull City at Upton Park. Sam Allardyce’s men have failed to live up to their billing as heavy favourites for the title this season, but showed that they mean business in their last home game by thrashing Brighton 6-0 before beating Leicester City 2-1 to keep up the pressure. It may be out of their hands, but West Ham must make sure that they are not left kicking themselves if Southampton crumble under the pressure. Without a win in five away games and with little motivation to foil their hosts, Hull City represent the perfect opponents for the Londoners.

SECOND BET
LEAGUE ONE
Bury
VS
Oldham
Forecast:
HOME WIN
Sheffield United
VS
Stevenage
Forecast:
HOME WIN

Gigg Lane hosts an encounter between two teams facing neither promotion nor relegation with two games remaining, meaning motivation may be hard to come by. Having inspired four wins from their last five though, Bury’s Richie Barker has seen his side's fortunes improve significantly, unlike his counterpart Paul Dickov, whose Oldham side have not won in over a month. With the Shakers having won their last three at home and Oldham losing three of their last four away games, there seems little reason to expect anything other than a Bury win that would complete a league double over their Lancashire opponents.

With bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday breathing down their necks, Sheffield United will be anxious to secure second spot and automatic promotion to the Championship with a home win against Stevenage. The Blades can wrap up an instant return to the second tier with all three points, should Wednesday suffer defeat away to Brentford in an earlier game, although that looks a tough ask. With 16 wins from 22 at home, United should be able to overcome a Stevenage side whose impressive 6-0 win away to Yeovil was their first on the road in seven games.

SECOND BET
LEAGUE TWO
Shrewsbury
VS
Dagenham and Redbridge
Forecast:
HOME WIN
Crawley Town
VS
Hereford
Forecast:
HOME WIN

Sitting five points ahead of Torquay and four points behind Swindon, a win for second-placed Shrewsbury would at worst see them secure promotion and at best offer hope of a late title push. Plenty to play for then, which cannot be said of their opponents. Dagenham and Redbridge may be in decent form at the moment, but with their Football League status safe thanks to last Saturday’s draw with Crawley, the Daggers can now relax and look forward to their summer holidays. This should play nicely into the hands of Shrewsbury, who have not lost in eight and will be looking to complete an impressive unbeaten season at New Meadow in all competitions.

Like Shrewsbury, Crawley can ensure promotion with a win this weekend. Unlike Shrewsbury though, the Sussex side face an opponent with plenty to play for themselves. Hereford sit two points away from safety with two games to go, but should struggle to get anything out of this game. Hereford’s run of no wins in eight does not sit comfortably when compared to Crawley’s unbeaten record, which stretches back 13 games. The Reds will therefore be confident of securing a second consecutive promotion with a win that could also consign their opponents to relegation.
