Top tipster Adam Bate has been in fine form recently and he has identified two solid selections for Friday's Championship clash at Bloomfield RoadIt is a huge game in the Championship when Blackpool host Hull at Bloomfield Road on Friday evening. A cursory look at the league table shows this is fourth versus ninth but that tells only half the tale.
Things are so tight at the top of the Championship that an away win would lift Hull to within a point of their hosts with two games in hand. A Hull win is 5/2 (3.5) with Bet365.
That could prove a tough task against the Seasiders given their impressive form of late. Ian Holloway’s men have won five of their last seven in the league and a win on Friday would move them within just four points of top spot in the division.
Blackpool are 11/10 (2.1) favourites with Bet365 to pick up all three points. The draw is available at 23/10 (3.3).
In the goalscorer markets, Hull are a tough team to back. Only Robert Koren has scored more than one league goal for the club since early December. The midfielder is available at 9/1 (10.0). For Blackpool, the goalscorer market is dominated by the two Phillips’. Matt has six league goals since Christmas while veteran Kevin has five of his own. They are both 6/1 (7.0) picks to open the scoring.
However, it is the last goalscorer market that appears more attractive when backing Blackpool players. Nine of those 11 Phillips goals have come in the second-half of matches, with Kevin Phillips scoring four goals within the final 15 minutes since the turn of the year. Both players are the same 6/1 (7.0) price with Bet365 to complete the scoring on the night.
The other markets are complicated by the clash of styles on offer. While Blackpool matches usually produce goals, Hull are experts in keeping it tight. Staggeringly, only 11 goals have been scored in the last 11 Hull matches with all but one of them featuring fewer than three goals.
Under 2.5 goals has to be the Bet of the Day at 4/5 (1.8) with Bet365. Given that Blackpool’s goals normally come late, the Value Bet is for this one to be 0-0 at half-time - like eight of Hull’s last 11 league games. That is available with Bet365 at 7/4 (2.75).
