thumbnail Hello,

The Portuguese side face a tough challenge as they look to recover from a 2-0 loss in the first leg but tipster William Duncan is backing them to claim a win

Braga travel to Besiktas on Thursday looking to overturn a two-goal deficit after suffering a shock 2-0 defeat at the hands of their Turkish opponents last week.

Helder Barbosa’s 29th minute dismissal certainly did not help Braga’s cause and Besiktas took full advantage to leave the Portuguese outfit with a mountain to climb if they are to progress in the competition.

Besiktas are considered narrow favourites to win the match with quoting 29/20 (2.45) for a home win while the same firm offer 7/4 (2.75) for Braga to secure the 90 minute win. The draw is chalked up at 43/20 (3.15) with

The first goalscorer betting market is headed up by Besiktas’ Slovak striker Filip Holosko, who is priced up at 11/2 (6.50) to break the deadlock on Thursday night while Besiktas’ Portuguese striker Hugo Almeida is rated as a 23/4 (6.75) chance to score the first goal of the game.

The Turkish side have a distinctly Portuguese flavour about them, including Simao. He scored what might prove to be the crucial second goal last week and is chalked up at 11/1 (12.0) by to score first here.

Braga, though, will feel that the tie is not beyond them just yet, particularly if they can score first and may tempt Braga backers with the 11/2 (6.50) for veteran striker Nuno Gomes to fire the opener to give his side hope.

Brazilian star Rodrigo Lima has been in fine goalscoring form for Braga this term, having scored 14 times in 19 league appearances with another three goals coming in eight European performances and can be backed at a juicy 23/4 (6.75) to open the scoring on Thursday night.

There is no doubt that Braga are down but they are not yet out and the 17/2 (9.50) for the Portuguese to qualify with may tempt some punters while the 3/1 (4.0) for Braga to lead inside 30 minutes carries plenty of appeal when you consider that they must come out with all guns blazing.

Qualification may be just out of reach but punters are advised to swim against the tide and back Braga to give Besiktas a fright on Thursday night.
