Napoli have the chance to close the gap on Inter and Roma in the top six when they host Chievo in one of Monday evening’s Serie A games.
Walter Mazzarri’s side may be the 1/2 (1.50) favourites with Sportingbet but they come into this tie on a poor run of form that has seen them go five league games without a win in the last month.
Chievo won the reverse fixture back in September and can be backed at 11/2 (6.50) with Sportingbet to do the double over Napoli here. The draw is available at 3/1 (4.00).
In the goalscorer betting it is always difficult to ignore Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan is available at a tempting 7/2 (4.50) to be the first goalscorer with Sportingbet and the same company are offering 21/20 (2.05) if you prefer the anytime goalscorer market which again, looks like decent value.
For the visitors, the absence of captain Paolo Cannavaro could let in Alberto Paloschi and Chievo’s top scorer on the road, with four goals, is a decent price at 8/1 (9.00) to net the opener.
One market that looks to be of interest here is the unders/overs betting – under 2.5 goals is being offered at 3/4 (1.75) with over 2.5 goals at 19/20 (1.95) with Sportingbet.
The odds suggest a low scoring game is more likely but that’s debatable given Napoli’s home matches are averaging more than three goals a game and each of Chievo’s last four league matches featured three or more goals. Indeed, both teams have seen more than half their matches feature over 2.5 goals so at the price offered, that looks to be a very good bet.
As a result, that’s the bet of the day in this one – back over 2.5 goals with Sportingbet at 19/20 (1.95). For the value bet, the 3/1 (4.0) on offer for the drawn game looks to be generous given Napoli have shared the spoils in four of their last five and may have half an eye on next week’s Champions League tie with Chelsea.
