JD's Betting Blog: Back a Swansea victory and Tottenham to score in both halves
It's been another good week for JD and his recommended bets for last week proved profitable. This week he's backing Spurs to score in both halves against Newcastle

It was another dramatic and exciting week in the world of football betting. Some of our winners last week included a selection on Paderborn at evens (2.0) with William Hill in Bundesliga 2.
Our Italian goals strategy came up trumps when all four teams highlighted on my blog last week found the net and it returned in region of 2/1 (3.11).
Also mentioned last week was the approach to the Man City v Fulham match which gave you added value by backing Man City to win with over 2.5 match goals which was around 4/5 (1.80). It ended 3-0 and illustrated how you can get a much better return with short priced favourites by including the likely amount of goals in your bet.
However, it wasn’t all plain sailing with Middlesbrough only managing a draw and our English goals strategy falling short, giving us a mixed week overall.
Exploring the "To score in both halves" market
An interesting angle that could be exploited in terms of extracting value from teams that are very likely to win is the "to score both halves market".
It means you are only concerned with your favoured team finding the net in each half. The advantage being that you get a much bigger price and your team doesn’t even have to win.
They simply have to score in each half. It also takes out the fear of the opposition scoring in your bet, in fact it actually suits you if they score as it will push your team on to score.
For example, you may want to take Tottenham Hotspur this weekend at home to Newcastle United.
William Hill are offering 6/5 (2.20) on Spurs to score in both halves. It is an alternative approach that you should consider, especially when the team is a strong favourite and has a very attacking style.
Another example dealing with an extremely short price is Real Madrid at home to Levante. At 1/12, Los Bloncos are virtually unbackable at such short odds, but they are 2/5 (1.40) with William Hill to score in both halves.
In their last 11 home victories, they have scored in both halves on nine occasions. Bookmakers like William Hill offer a wide variety of different markets and it is important that you utilise them to profitable effect.
