There will be plenty at stake as Liverpool face Tottenham at Anfield on Monday evening. Both these teams will have taken comfort from Chelsea and Manchester United’s draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

A win for Liverpool would take them within two points of Chelsea in the battle for fourth and the home side can be backed at 11/10 (2.1) with Bet365.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have the opportunity to move back within three points of Manchester United in second place.

This is the latest in a difficult run of games for Spurs and Harry Redknapp’s men will feel they are still in the title race if they can just hang in there throughout February. Tottenham are available at odds of 13/5 (3.6) with Bet365 to become the first team to beat Liverpool at Anfield this season.

That will prove a tough task because Kenny Dalglish’s team are mean opponents on home turf. Having conceded just eight goals in 11 Premier League games at Anfield, it would be a surprise if Spurs walk away with three points. But the visitors can take heart from the fact that the Reds have struggled to find goals of their own – Liverpool’s tally of 14 league goals is fewer than any other top-half team.

The return of Luis Suarez will, of course, give Dalglish more attacking options. However, the smart money remains with the unders market in this one.

Bet365 are offering 4/5 (1.8) on there being under 2.5 goals and history tells us there’s a good chance of that happening when Liverpool are at home – eight of their 11 Premier League games at Anfield have featured fewer than three goals.

Bet365 are also running a free bet offer for this game. Place a pre-match bet and they will give you a free in-play bet to the same stake on the big match. Given this should be a tight affair – and that Liverpool are unbeaten at home - there appears to be real value in utilising that free bet on the generous 3/1 (4.0) being offered for the home side to win by a one-goal margin.

Bet of the Day – under 2.5 goals at 4/5 (1.8) with Bet365

Value Bet – Liverpool to win by one goal at 3/1 (4.0) with Bet365
