Given Blackburn’s traumatic season you would think it’d be Steve Kean’s side facing crisis point as they visit the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
As it is, hosts Arsenal are rivalling their struggling opponents when it comes to disappointing results and fans in revolt. That said, 188Bet still make them heavy favourites at 5/19 (1.26) while the draw is 19/5 (4.80).
It’s been a miserable start to 2012 for the Gunners. Arsene Wenger’s team are without a Premier League win this year and have picked up just one point from their last four games, drawing 0-0 with Bolton last time out.
As a result, the visitors are entitled to fancy their chances in this one. There have been at least two goals in every Blackburn away game and Kean’s men have scored in each of them. Blackburn are 44/5 (9.8) with 188Bet to cause an upset and heap further misery on Arsenal by beating them in front of their own fans.
That seems unlikely despite Arsenal’s troubles. Although, the Gunners clearly have their defensive frailties there haven’t been many goals at the Emirates – just 25 in 11 games. Arsenal are not thrashing teams at home but only Swansea and Man City have conceded fewer. Expect them to win at 5/19 (1.26) with 188Bet.
For the bet of the day though it is important to look at what we can learn from both sides’ results this season.
Arsenal have six one-goal victories at home and no Premier League team has more. Meanwhile, Blackburn have chalked up eight one-goal defeats on their travels, with only Sunderland suffering more. For that reason, the bet of the day in this one is the 13/5 (3.6) on offer with 188Bet for Arsenal to win by one goal.
