Goal Getter: Backing high scoring games at Newcastle and Schalke this weekend
Goal Getter is a new column which aims to make profit from the goals markets around Europe and the Premier League. This week’s tips come from England and Germany

Demba Ba - Newcastle
Newcastle v Aston Villa
The short-term loan signing of striker Robbie Keane appears to have lifted everyone around Villa Park and Alex McLeish's side have been free scoring in recent weeks.
The competition brought about by the Irish international also seems to be raising the performance level of both Darren Bent and midfielder Stephen Ireland. Aston Villa have scored eight goals in their last three away games in all competitions and this weekend the Villans travel to high flying Newcastle.
The Magpies should welcome back top goalscorer Demba Ba as well as new signing and international strike partner Papiss Cisse after Senegal’s early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, Newcastle have continued to produce results without the goals of Ba and the influential Cheick Tiote.
Hatem Ben Arfa has returned to the side recently and the French midfielder has the potential to unlock most Premier League defences. With the return and emergence of key attackers for both sides, expect the goals to flow on Sunday.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals (Newcastle v Aston Villa) at 19/20 (1.95) at Bet365
Schalke v Mainz
With five wins on the bounce, Schalke have emerged as credible contenders for the Bundesliga crown in what is shaping up to be a very exciting title race.
Only Mario Gomez has scored more goals in the Bundesliga than Schalke’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar with the German hitting 17 goals compared to the Dutchman’s 16 goals so far this term.
Veteran striker Raul has also been well amongst the goals recently with four in five games and the loan signing of Nigerian forward Chinedu Obasi will only strengthen Schalke’s firepower for the rest of the season in their push for the German title.
Opponents Mainz are far from safe, but did pick up a valuable 3-1 win last time out against Freiburg. The previous meeting between these two sides was won 4-2 by Schalke and the odds look appealing on a similar result and number of goals.
Tip: Schalke to win AND over 2.5 goals at 27/20 (2.35) with Bet365
