Primera Division Tips: An Espanyol win, unders in Santander and Fernando Llorente to score against Real Madrid
Spanish football expert Phil Kitromilides has examined this week's fixtures and identified three selections including a 16/5 goal scorer tip from Real Madrid - Bilbao
By Phil Kitromilides
Abdelaziz Barrada - Getafe
Racing Santander V Getafe:
Racing ruined a few accumulators last week by inflicting a shock first home defeat of the season on high flying Osasuna. Normal service however should be resumed with the visit of Getafe to El Sardinero this weekend, the La Liga stadium which has seen fewest goals (10) in the entire division.
Twelve of Racing's 18 matches this season have seen fewer than 2.5 goals and with three out of Getafe's last four games all seeing under 2.5 goals as well, another low scoring affair looks likely for the long suffering home fans and offers some value in an otherwise difficult looking game.
Tip: Under 2.5 goals at 4/7 (1.57) with Sportingbet
Espanyol v Granada
If you consistantly sell your best players and rely on youngsters coming through the ranks, then there is only so much you can achieve. Indeed, many would suggest that Espanyol are over achieving this season sitting in the top half, just five points off a Champions League place with an incredibly young side.
They have as always been difficult to beat at home, as demonstrated in their last match at the Cornella El Prat where they held city rivals Barcelona to a 1-1 draw. Granada have managed a couple of away wins this season, but have been fairly pitiful in front of goal scoring just four times in eight away games. The Catalans should be too strong and are available at a solid price.
Tip: Home win at 13/20 (1.65) with Sportingbet
Real Madrid v Athletic Bilbao
This one is perhaps a bit of a long shot but there is logic behing it, with Real Madrid having conceded in seven of their eight games at home this season. Los Blancos have been susceptible to conceding headed goals particularly since the turn of the year, while Athletic have scored with more headers (nine) than any other team this season.
There is no better header of the ball in La Liga than Llorente who has two goals in his last four games against Madrid, and nine in total this season (he would have had more but for injury) and at 16/5 looks a fantastic price to notch a goal in this game.
Tip: Fernando Llorente to score any time at 16/5 (4.2) with Sportingbet
