Cristiano Ronaldo's chances of adding the Euro 2012 Golden Boot to his haul of honours have been dealt a blow by the bookies.

William Hill have made the world's most expensive player 12/1 fifth favourite to claim the individual award.

Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has hit 16 La Liga goals already this season but Portugal face stiff opposition after being drawn with Germany, Denmark and The Netherlands in Group B which has been dubbed the 'Group of Death.'

Spain's hero of World Cup 2010 is the current joint frontrunner at 7/1 along with Bayern Munich goal machine Mario Gomez. Villa scooped the top goalscorer prize at Euro 2008 with four goals and was the joint top marksman in South Africa last year.

The other winners from the 2010 World Cup are longer shots with Thomas Mueller at 20/1 and Wesley Sneijder priced at 25/1. Current Premier League leading scorer Robin van Persie is a 10/1 contender for the Netherlands while Germany's other hotshot Miroslav Klose is also 12/1.

England fans can back Wayne Rooney to make up for lost time by bagging the Golden Boot at 33/1. Irish punters can gamble on Richard Dunne to come up from the back and claim an unlikely award at 250/1.
