Surely the Gunners can't slip up again? The bookies don't think so
After tripping up against Birmingham City on Sunday, the Gunners won't want another case of cup misery. Bookies make Arsenal 1/7 on to win or to put it another way, you need to stake £7 to win £1 back. Not exactly thrilling odds.
Arsenal have demonstrated time and again this season they are not a team you can rely on. They can blow a four goal lead against Newcastle and can then go out and beat Barcelona. Tread carefully when backing the north Londoners to earn you some money.
Against Leyton Orient this evening they will be missing Robin van Persie so Marouane Chamakh is expected to lead the line. You can back the Moroccan to grab the opener at 3.75.
Jonathan Tehoue, who netted the equaliser in the first match, looks a value bet at 7.0 to score at some point in the 90 minutes. The French striker, who Arsene Wenger confessed he had never heard of before the first match, has recovered from a migraine and could well cause the Professor some further headaches this evening.
Backing Arsenal looks a no brainer and the bookies certainly aren't forecasting an upset.
"Arsenal are fully expected to put their Carling Cup disappointment behind them and it is not a question of if they win, but by how many goals they win by," said William Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Hills are offering 7/1 (8.0) that Orient's first goal, like in the previous game, comes between the 76th minute and full time.
Arsenal should be comfortably able to make up for Sunday's disappointment and a victory by a few goals looks on the cards.
The Pick: Arsenal (-2 handicap) @ 2.20
The Outsider: Leyton Orient to score between the 76th minute and full-time @ 7.0
The mega long shot: Jonathan Tehoue to score first and Leyton Orient win @ 66.0
