Tartan Army To Earn A Point In Prague?

Match Odds: Czech Republic 1.65, Draw 3.40, Scotland 5.0 (Sportingbet)

Steven Saunders, Goal.com UK Associate Editor

"Scotland manager Craig Levein kicked off his tenure in March with a 1-0 win over the Czech Republic in a friendly at Hampden, and a repeat in Prague would put his side in a commanding position in Group I.

"The Czechs have only played once so far in the group, where they suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Lithuania. Another setback - especially at home - would all but kill off their chances of advancing from what is a truncated group of five teams, made even smaller by the likelihood of world and European champions Spain finishing top.

"If Scotland are to succeed in Prague, they will need to do so without Scott Brown, who scored the only goal in that friendly meeting with the Czechs in March but is sidelined through injury now. A draw suits the Scots, who will be content to sit back and hit on the break, and with the Czech Republic already having failed to hit the net against Lithuania, the smart money here is on a 0-0 draw."

Prediction: Czech Republic 0-0 Scotland

Nationalmannschaft To Power Through

Match Odds: Germany 1.64, Draw 4.0, Turkey 5.98 (Pinnacle Sports)Bet Now

Nils Reschke, Goal.com Germany Chief Editor

"All Germans know that this won't be easy because in Berlin's Olympia Stadium it could be more an away match for the hosts.

"For Germany our 'secret' captain, Bastian Schweinsteiger, is injured so Sami Khedira will have a lot of work in the defensive midfield. In the front - as every time - Miroslav Klose, Lukas Podolski, also substitute Mario Gomez are out of shape in Bundesliga. Joachim Loew trusts in them and they have habit of performing on the big stage.

"Lots will remember Euro 2008 semi-final, where Turkey played a great match, but lost in the last minute by a goal from Philipp Lahm. I think it will be hard contest again but at the end Germany knows the importance of this game and will ultimately prevail."

Routine Dutch Win Expected

Match Odds: Moldova 13.0, Draw 6.0, Netherlands 1.16 (Sportingbet)

Wout Stravers, Goal.com Netherlands Chief Editor

"This is a match which you simply have to win to qualify as group winner for Euro 2012. The vice-world champions didn't reach their normal level in the last match against Finland (2-1 victory), but they can build on some in form players, such as Maarten Stekelenburg, Rafael van der Vaart and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

"Some years ago Netherlands played against Moldova and this was one of the ugliest international matches in Dutch history. They won't underestimate Moldova as it is definitely a better team than San Marino or Liechtenstein. When they do their job and nothing more it will be a solid victory."

Les Bleus To Win Narrowly

Match Odds: France 1.62, Draw 3.78, Romania 6.10 (Pinnacle Sports)

Alexandre Walraevens, Goal.com France Chief Editor

"The French national team is now under Laurent Blanc and the famous defender has taken a difficult situation since the World Cup and the initial defeat against Belarus has put more pressure on the players.

"But the team is now young with some experienced players like Florent Malouda at the top of his form. By taking largely the players from Bosnia match (2-0) Blanc is starting to find a group to try to qualify.

"Traditionally France and Romania do not play great games with a lot of goals but the French national team is now more focused on attack and the addition of Nasri, will help les Bleus to win by a little margin with a a small stake on a goal from Florent Malouda or Guillaume Hoarau."

Prediction: France 1-0 Romania

Tough Task For Azzurri In Belfast

Match Odds: Northern Ireland 5.0, Draw 3.40, Italy 1.65 (Sportingbet)

Sergio Chesi, Goal.com Italy

"It isn't the best moment for Italy to face a tough opponent like North Ireland but the Azzurri have good chances to win the match.

"It's likely they will struggle in Belfast, because historically Italy suffer against this kind of team (aggressive, dynamic, robust) but the technical gap will help Prandelli's side to make the difference.

"Players like Andrea Pirlo and Antonio Cassano can change a match just with a masterstroke plus Marco Borriello is another player who can change the game. One of these three will likely make the difference. Our defence isn't as strong as before so we may concede."

Prediction: Northern Ireland 1-2 Italy

Irish Test For Russians

Match Odds: Republic of Ireland 2.60, Draw 3.18, Russia 3.0 (Pinnacle Sports)

Andy McLean, Goal.com Russia Expert
"Russia coach Dick Advocaat is under immense pressure to restore lost pride and drill some team attitude back into the Sbornaya for their trip to face the Republic of Ireland. The Dutchman has drafted in a number of new faces but it will remain to see whether the former Zenit. St Petersburg coach will be brave enough to field them.

"The Russians have been struggling to find the net despite creating a host of chances in their games, scoring twice against minnows Andorra and failing to do so at home against Slovakia. If Advocaat picks an inform side rather than the players that feel themselves undroppable, the Russian side will be fierce opposition, but personally I can't see this happening.

"The players that ply their trade in England and Europe seem to get the nod over those who play in the national championship, and here's the dilemma for the new boss; competition is fast becoming irrelevant and only the way to install this back in the squad is by making 'shock' changes, as fans begin to question the big stars' passion.

"The importance of this fixture is undeniable but it will come down to whether the Russians are there mentally when the XI is chosen. If Advocaat is brave, I can see Russia taking a comfortable three points, if not the smart money will be on the hosts."

Prediction: Republic of Ireland 2-1 Russia
