The Nigeria international has been linked with the mid-table La Liga club after the 23-year-old inputted a number of impressive performances in recent weeksRayo Vallecano, currently 12th in La Liga, are in talks with Sone Aluko’s agent in a bid to sign the Rangers striker on a free transfer in the summer.
The Madrid-based club have revealed a club representative flew to Glasgow on Tuesday to discuss the possibility of the 23-year-old signing a contract for the Spanish side.
Aluko signed for Rangers on a short-term contract from Aberdeen last November and has since turned heads with many terrific performance, including scoring a crucial goal against bitter rivals Celtic last month.
An official spokesman for Rayo told The Daily Record: “An official was in Glasgow holding contract talks with Aluko’s agent. We believe Aluko has all the qualities to play in La Liga.”
Vallecano are not the only Spanish side in the running for the Nigeria international’s signature, 9th placed Espanyol are also thought to be interested in the former Aberdeen man as well as Portugese outfit Braga.
