Rangers manager Ally McCoist believes the fans will be most affected after the club were placed into administration and has called for their support to help ride through the difficult period.
The Ibrox outfit have also been docked ten league points by the Scottish Premier League which effectively hands the title to Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Although McCoist realises the severity of his side’s current plight he has issued a rallying cry to supporters to stick with them during this tough time.
"I believe we have the best fans in the world and I think that will show in the next few weeks," the 49-year-old told the club's official website
“The most important people at this football club have always been the fans and that will always be the case.
"The one thing that I have to ask them at this time for the club is to be with the club and with the team.
"The team really need the support of the fans more than ever in this hour."
The Scot, who is also the clubs all-time leading goalscorer took charge of the Scottish Champions in the summer after serving as Walter Smith's assistant, sympathises with supporters they endures one of the darkest times in the club’s history.
"They understand that it is not an ideal situation. We have been deducted 10 points and that makes life very, very difficult for us.
"But these are the facts and I would just ask the fans for their continued great support and to please get behind the team."
