Ally McCoist's Rangers defeated St Johnstone thanks to two goals from Nikica Jelavic, as they moved back above Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
The visitors were without first choice goalkeeper Allan McGregor, due to a thigh injury, so Neil Alexander was given a rare chance to start a league game. While Steven Davis replaced John Fleck after serving his suspension.
Francisco Sandaza, the St Johnstone striker who has reportedly rejected a pre-contract agreement from Rangers started for Steve Lomas' side.
The hosts were the brighter side in the opening 10 minutes, intent on testing the replacement keeper with numerous high balls into the box.

After a quarter of an hour, St Johnstone had the ball in the net as Marcus Haber knocked the ball past Alexander, but he was correctly ruled offside after Sandaza's delightful through-ball.
Rangers then had a clear chance when Davis found team-mate David Healy with a perfect ball, but the Northern Ireland international missed the target when he should have scored.
The deadlock was broken just after 20 minutes. Davis took a quick free-kick to Sone Aluko, whose shot was deflected into Jelavic's path who then beat the keeper.
The game became slightly heated after the goal and there were handbags after a Steven Anderson challenge on Jelavic for a high ball. Both sides' players indulged in some pushing and shoving but it was a short-lived incident.
Rangers nearly had a second towards the end of the half, but Jelavic's low shot was saved by Pete Enckleman's foot and the Saints scrambled it clear.
Rangers dominated the second half but it was St Johnstone who scored an equaliser from nothing with just over 20 minutes to play. Liam Craig's cross was headed across goal by Haber, the ball then hit Carlos Bocanegra and beat the helpless Alexander in goal.
Then, Saints went close to taking the lead as Sandaza played in David Robertson but the midfielder's shot went just wide of Alexander's right-hand post.
With 10 minutes to go a howler for Saints midfielder Murray Davidson allowed Rangers to win it. He headed an Aluko cross onto his own bar, before Jelavic smacked the ball home for his second of the game and 17th of the season.
