Motherwell have completed the free transfer signing of Alan Gow after he passed a medical.

The former Rangers and Falkirk striker, who was released by Plymouth Argyle in the summer, has joined on an initial six-month contract.

Motherwell boss Craig Brown is delighted to have captured the forward and is pleased to have beaten a number of clubs to his signature.

He told the Evening Times: “We are delighted that Alan Gow will be joining us today after he completes his medical and a few other details.

“He is a player who will give us that extra bit of quality going forward and one who I am sure will entertain the fans.

“I felt that against Odense in the second leg of our Europa League final qualifier that we had chance after chance and they went begging and I believe Alan will add a clinical quality to our play going forward that we have maybe lacked.

“But the great thing is he watched that game and was impressed by the way we play football and that struck a chord with him.

“He is an accomplished footballer and one who can give us something extra in a variety of positions going forward.

“Given how many options Alan had, we are delighted he is joining us at Motherwell.”

The 27-year-old was also linked with moves to Swindon Town, Kilmarnock and St Mirren over the summer before making the switch to Motherwell.
