The veteran goalkeeper has been without a club since 2010, but is receiving interest to play competitively once again in Brazil's top flightDida could be set for a return to professional football with Portuguesa having been a free agent for almost two years.
The 38-year-old has been playing for the AC Milan beach soccer team in his home nation in recent weeks and the newly-promoted Brazilian club's coach, Candinho, has revealed his interest in the veteran.
"He is coming here in Canindé [Portuguesa's stadium] for a meeting, but nothing is certain. I'm talking to him and he was my keeper in the Selecao [Brazil national team]," Candinho told GloboEsporte.
"If he agreed terms with Portuguesa, he would still have to spend time just practicing how to recover, even though he served on the beach soccer team."
The Brasileiro newcomers are eager for more reinforcements after suffering a dismal state championship campaign that ended in relegation to the second tier.
