Former Benfica and Portugal striker Eusebio has been released from the Hospital da Luz in Lisbon after recovering from a cervical problem.

The 69-year-old was re-admitted to hospital on January 4 because of 'acute cervical pain' and has now recovered from the problem completely.

Eusebio's new ailment came just weeks after he had been treated for bilateral pneumonia at the same hospital, but doctors have stressed that the two problems are unrelated.

This is the latest in a series of health problems which have affected the 64-cap Eusebio in the last few years. In 2007, the former Benfica attacker underwent a heart operation
