Argentina legend Diego Maradona was taken to hospital on Monday following a car accident near his home in Ezeiza.
The Buenos Aires Herald reports that the former Argentina coach was taken to hospital for checks along with his girlfriend Veronica Ojeda, who was also undergoing tests after crashing their car into a bus.
Maradona injured his knee in the accident, whilst his girlfriend was receiving treatment on her hip, and according to reports the former World Cup winner was on his way to visit his mother in hospital after being taken ill.
A medical official said that the new Al Wasl coach in the United Arab Emirates was "perfectly fine".
Earlier this week, Maradona demanded more support for Argentina as Lionel Messi, team-mates and coach Sergio Batista came under fire from media and fans for their performances at the Copa America so far.
