Players allegedly received money to influence outcomes

Finland police have revealed they have arrested four footballers in relation to match fixing in relation to matches in the top division last year.

According to ESPN, the players were with clubs Rovaniemen Palloseura and AC Oulu. Oulu coach Juha Mainen said on Thursday that two of the team's players allegedly accepted €50,000 in bribes to influence outcome of the match between TPS Turku and FC Oulu.

The National Bureau of Investigation says the arrests bring the number of suspects to 12. Two have been detained including a Singaporean man, who was arrested last month, allegedly suspected of bribing the players.

Four others remain in police custody and six have been released with travel restrictions.
