That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
Goals in the final 15 minutes from Divock Origi and Ben Woodburn, the Reds' youngest-ever scorer, ensure Jurgen Klopp's side secure their place in the League Cup semi-finals.
90' + 2' FULL-TIME: LIVERPOOL 2-0 LEEDS.
M. Grujić
D. Origi
Liverpool FC
90' + 1' And now a substitution, as Origi is booked by Marko Grujic.
D. Origi
Yellow Card
Liverpool FC
90' + 1' Origi ends his eventful night with a booking.
90' There will be two minutes added on at the end of this match.
88' Leeds have mustered a good push here in the dying minutes, but it's appearing to be a fruitless one as Liverpool's place in the semi-final is looking relatively assured now. There's still no score in the other quarter-final between Hull and Newcastle at the KC Stadium, so the Reds are poised to be the first team to book their place in the last-four.
86' STAT: With his goal, Ben Woodburn has become Liverpool's youngest ever goalscorer, beating Michael Owen's previous record.
84' All hands on deck here for Leeds and Wood is able to get on the end of a well-worked move to tap home past Mignolet from in close, following a clever set-up from Doukara, but he failed to time his run as the offside flag is raised.
J. Milner
O. Ejaria
Liverpool FC
82' Lifelong Leeds supporter James Milner is on to face his former club here, a special moment for him no doubt, as his arrival is met by a loud cheer from both sets of fans. Ejaria is off in his place.
G. Wijnaldum
Assist
Liverpool FC
81' Wijnaldum twice denied his goal tonight, but he has an assist here.
B. Woodburn
Goal
Liverpool FC
81' CHERISH THE MOMENT! This is one Ben Woodburn will never forget! It's a first ever Liverpool goal for the teenager, who emphatically hammers home a finish from close range following a delightful little flick from Wijnaldum to tee him up at the far post - and in front of the Kop end to boot!
80' Liverpool back in attack and looking for a second that would help avoid a nervy finish to the match. Origi is back out there, given the chance to prove to Klopp that he can play the rest of this match, as Milner puts his coat back on, waiting to find out if he'll be coming in.
78' A minute ago he was off and running in celebration, but now Origi has a bit of a worry as he goes down injured and requires attention. James Milner was set to come on, but Klopp may have to wait and see now.
T. Alexander-Arnold
Assist
Liverpool FC
76' The youngster Arnold picks up the assist, a memorable moment for him.
D. Origi
Goal
Liverpool FC
76' A FOOT INTO THE SEMI-FINALS! Origi has the breakthrough, and it comes in front of the Kop end as he gets behind Ayling to get on the end of Arnold's cross and poke the ball beyond Silvestri at the near post!
75' Into the last 15 minutes at Anfield as the prospect of extra-time looms. Liverpool have started to up the urgency a bit, but neither side has been able to buy a goal tonight, which suggests we may be in for a long night here in Merseyside.
73' STAT: Leeds have lost nine of their last 11 League Cup matches against Premier League opposition, including all four of their away matches during this run.
71' UNBELIEVABLY CLOSE! Both sides have struck the woodwork now, and it's WIjnaldum who does so for Liverpool, latching onto a throughball from Mane and beating Silvestri, but not the post, as his finish is denied by the frame of the goal!
69' Roars from the supporters as Liverpool win a corner in front of the Kop end, but their anticipation is not met by the result, as the initial delivery is cleared, before the subsequent ball into the box from Ejaria is sent behind for a goal-kick.
B. Woodburn
K. Stewart
Liverpool FC
67' Liverpool finally get their replacement on for the injured Stewart, in the form of youth product Ben Woodburn.
66' HEADED WIDE! Bartley left unmarked in the centre from a corner, but heads wide from point-blank range! Pressure stays on as Leeds get right back into attack, but Roofe is denied from 15 yards by Mignolet!
64' STAT: No team has scored more goals in the League Cup this season than Liverpool (10).
C. Wood
S. Dallas
Leeds United FC
62' Leeds make their final change of the night just past the hour mark, and it's their leading scorer Chris Wood who comes on to replace Dallas. Wood will likely lead the line, pushing Doukara to the left.
60' Lucas does well to win the ball back high up the pitch and quickly finds passage to the top of the penalty area, before rolling a pass across to Can. The midfielder strikes for goal, but it takes a deflection en route, taking the sting out of it and making for an easy save for Silvestri.
58' Liverpool back to passing it around rather aimlessly around the halfway line. They're creating precious little, struggling to find any real cohesion, likely due to the wealth of changes to the team made by Klopp. They travel to Bournemouth on the weekend, a tricky fixture with three points a must.
S. Doukara
Yellow Card
Leeds United FC
56' Doukara is issued the first yellow card of the match for a foul on Stewart.
54' HOW UNLUCKY! Roofe denied the opener by the smallest of margins! It's Stewart who is dispossessed in his own end, with Roofe being teed up seconds later. He bends a terrific, dipping strike around Mignolet from 20 yards, but it rattles off the far post and stays out!
52' STAT: Leeds have featured seven times in the League Cup quarter-final, winning five. Their only appearance at this stage post-2000 ended in a 5-1 defeat to Chelsea in 2012/13.
50' TOO MANY TOUCHES! That was a golden opportunity for Origi, who is teed up in the area with a clean sight of goal, following a delightful back-heel from Mane, but he opts not to shoot first time for whatever reason. This allows the Leeds defence to recover and block him off, as the chance comes to nothing.
48' Cagey start to this second half as Liverpool probe in relatively harmless areas, with Leeds content on letting Liverpool continue to dominate possession, biding their time before trying to hit back on the counter - though they didn't have much success with that in the first half.
46' Off we go again...
L. Ayling
L. Cooper
Leeds United FC
46' One change at the break as Luke Ayling replaces Liam Cooper for Leeds in defence.
Goalless at the break at Anfield in this EFL Cup quarter-final tie, between this pair of old rivals. It has been a well-contested match, with both sides showing plenty of fight, but neither have found the cohesion or quality required in attack to break the deadlock. Perfectly poised ahead of the second half.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-0 LEEDS.
45' There will be one minute added on at the end of this first half.
44' It's all fizzling out a bit as we approach half-time, with the two sides poised to head in scoreless. There should be a minute added on for the O'Kane injury, but there's been few stoppages otherwise.
42' THAT COULD HAVE GONE ANYWHERE! Stewart latches onto a loose ball atop the area and drives a strike goalwards. It takes a generous deflection off Lucas, which wrong-foots Mignolet, but winds up drifting wide of the near post!
40' STAT: This is the fourth meeting between these two clubs in the League Cup. Liverpool have won two of the previous three meetings, drawing the other.
38' Garry Monk is rather displeased as he has a chat with fourth official Mike Dean on the touchline, following a very delayed offside flag that went up to deny them an attack. Dallas was beyond the last defender, but he was inside his own half still when the pass played him into acres of space on the left. That's a poor decision from the linesman.
36' It remains one-way traffic as we enter the final 10 minutes of the first half, but Silvestri has had an incredibly easy go of it in goal. Origi has been asked to move around to try and get in possession, and as a result Liverpool have been lacking that target man and focal point in attack.
34' TIDY BLOCK! That's a sumptuous pass from Moreno, effectively switching the play with a delightful ball delivered across the pitch with the outside of his foot, hitting Mane in stride. The winger breaks into the area and looks to feed Mane, but Taylor puts in an important recovery tackle to see the threat aside.
32' AGONISINGLY WIDE! Miscommunication between Bartley and Silvestri allows Can to pounce on a back-pass, as neither fail to deal with the threat. The midfielder steps in and pokes the ball beyond the keeper, but it just rolls beyond the far post!
30' STAT: This is Leeds United’s first League Cup match against a Premier League opponent since a trip to Newcastle in September 2013, which ended in a 2-0 defeat.
K. Phillips
E. O'Kane
Leeds United FC
28' O'Kane walks off under his own power, a positive sign at least, as he's replaced here by Kalvin Phillips.
27' Bit of a lengthy stoppage here as O'Kane goes down in need of attention. A signal over to the touchline gets a couple of substitutes quickly warming, with Phillips the one being spoken to by Monk. This looks like it may force the midfielder's night to come to an early conclusion.
25' IMPORTANT BLOCK! A corner is floated into a dangerous area, and Bartley's presence is enough to throw off Mignolet, who fails to deal with it. It runs through to Vieira on the edge of the box, but Origi tracks back excellently to see the shot aside, an important intervention with the keeper stranded.
23' Leeds continue to struggle to pass their way out from the back. Doukara manages to finally get on one of the hopeful balls over the top, played out from defence, and is able to shield off a defender before winning a free-kick. Good piece of hold-up play, that, from the striker, to provide some respite for the back line.
21' A first set-piece opportunity presents itself to the Reds, as they win a free-kick on the right flank, a yard in from the touchline. They have plenty of height in the team today, and Moreno tries to find some of that height with his delivery, in the form of Can, but the defence does just enough to send it back wide.
19' Excellent work by Ejaria to strip O'Kane of possession on the edge of the box and pick out Moreno in space on the left. The full-back surges into the area and tries to drive a strike through the legs of a defender, but Berardi does well to get a block in.
17' STAT: Jurgen Klopp has won six of his eight League Cup games in charge of Liverpool.
15' Better from the visitors, who get forward tidily as Silvestri starts them out from the back. It leads to a sound period of possession on the fringes of the attacking third, but a stray pass from Roofe runs out for a throw, as it disappointingly comes to nothing for them in the end.
13' Slowly, but surely, Liverpool are looking dangerous. They're creating more and more with their endless time on the ball, something Leeds have to do better to disrupt. It's been all a bit too comfortable for the hosts in possession up to this point.
11' DELIGHTFUL ATTACKING MOVE! That's a work of art, vintage attacking play from Liverpool. Taylor's loose pass is pounced upon by Can, who picks out Origi, and the striker delivers an exquisite little dink into the area for Wijnaldum, who volleys a stunning first-time effort at goal! Silvestri dives across to his left, rather heroically, and manages to parry.
9' All a bit untidy from the Leeds defence as they try and see aside the first threat, coming via a Liverpool corner. Taylor eventually manages to scramble it clear, but gives possession straight back to the hosts. Liverpool are spending close to every waking minute on the ball through the early stages of the match.
7' STAT: Leeds are the lowest positioned side participating in the fifth round of the EFL Cup, one of just two Championship sides to reach this stage along with leaders Newcastle.
5' This has been a very bright opening to the match for Leeds, who are looking dangerous as they press high up the pitch, despite Liverpool largely dominating possession. It's all been rather pedestrian in these opening minutes from the Reds.
3' SPLENDID START! Nearly an opening goal inside of three minutes for Leeds, as Sacko gets on the end of a diagonal ball over the top. He finds himself through on goal, with Klavan giving chase, but Mignolet does well to spread himself and turn the strike behind for a corner.
1' AND WE'RE OFF! Leeds in all white as they get us underway, attacking left to right, with Liverpool in red.
Thank you.
And so, at one point over the next few minutes, wherever you may be, please put everything aside and be silent, if only for a moment, to pay your respects.
There is no reprieve amidst tragedy, but for the unity it promotes. The football world is an unassailable family, and today we mourn together – we mourn the lives lost, while celebrating the lives lived.
With a little over five minutes still to go before kick-off, let’s take this time to pay tribute to the victims of Tuesday’s devastatingly tragic plane crash involving Brazilian football club Chapecoense.
Manager Garry Monk makes four changes to the Leeds side which won 2-1 at Rotherham on the weekend. Stuart Dallas replaces Chris Wood in attack, while Ronald Vieira and Gaetano Berardi also come into the team at the expense of Kalvin Phillips and Luke Ayling. Rob Green gets a rest as Marco Silvestri starts in goal.
Right-back Trent Arnold and midfield Ovie Ejaria, both of whom made their full-debut in the fourth round against Tottenham, get the call again tonight. Simon Mignolet returns in goal, Lucas Leiva and Ragnar Klavan form a partnership at centre-half, while Emre Can and Kevin Stewart join Ejaria in midfield.
Jurgen Klopp keeps just two players in the starting XI from their win over Sunderland on Saturday, with Georginio Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane keeping their place in the side, both lining up in the attacking trident, flanking striker Divock Origi, who played close to an hour after replacing the injured Philippe Coutinho on the weekend.
SUBS: Green, Ayling, Wood, Antonsson, Grimes, Phillips, Mowatt.
LEEDS UNITED (4-2-3-1): Silvestri; Berardi, Bartley, Cooper, Taylor; Vieira, O'Kane; Sacko, Roofe, Dallas; Doukara.
SUBS: Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Milner, Henderson, Grujic, Woodburn.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Mignolet; Arnold, Lucas, Klavan, Moreno; Ejaria, Stewart, Can; Mane, Wijnaldum, Origi.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
Leeds have won this competition just once in their history and would love nothing more than to change that, with the finish line in touching distance, but they face their toughest test yet in the form of Jurgen Klopp’s high-flying Reds.
While priorities may reside elsewhere for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, they also don’t have European competition to worry about this season, the Reds can afford the minor distraction that would accompany a run to the final.
Both sides will have one eye on their league duties forthcoming on the weekend, with Liverpool in a heated title race and Leeds in an anxious battle of their own for promotion.
Hello and welcome to live coverage from Anfield for this English Football League Cup quarter-final tie between Liverpool and Leeds United!
