thumbnail Hello,

The Lancashire side will play in the Football League for the first time next season and have been handed a home tie against the Championship club to kick-off their 2012-13 campaign

Fleetwood Town have been handed a first round tie at home to Nottingham Forest in the 2012-13 League Cup.

The Lancashire club are participating in the Football League for the first time in their history having been crowned champions of the Blue Square Premier last season.

Fellow newcomers York City, meanwhile, have been drawn away to League One side Doncaster Rovers, who were relegated from the Championship in 2011-12.

Last season's finalists Cardiff City start their campaign away from home against Northampton Town, while Premier League bottom-side Wolves host League Two outfit Aldershot Town.

Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers will not enter the competition until the second round, along with Premier League clubs not participating in European competition.

Ties against sides competing on the continental stage will be up for grabs in the third round.

The first round fixtures will be the first games of the Football League season, with matches set to be played during the week commencing August 13. The Football League has also confirmed, however, that clubs may request to play the ties on Saturday August 11 or Sunday August 12 subject to mutual agreement.
