The powerful defender is desperate to emerge victorious in Amsterdam and make history with the Lisbon side after 50 years without European success
The Lisbon giants last won a major European trophy in 1962 when they beat Real Madrid 5-3 in the final of the European Cup and Luisao feels the time has come to add some more silverware to their trophy cabinet.
"What I want is the best for Benfica. Benfica deserve this, we've grown in recent years," the defender said at a press conference.
"We can make history for an important club like Benfica; all other information is forgotten as soon as you go out on to the pitch.
"Eusebio is here and his presence means a lot. He is a reference point at Benfica and to share moments with him is important to the team.
"We've prepared well and since Saturday's game [a defeat by Porto] we have been 100 per cent focused on this. We're looking forward, not back."
Benfica have met Chelsea before twice, losing both games in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season.
