Ryan Giggs, Dimitar Berbatov and Patrice Evra have all failed to make the Manchester United squad for their Europa League trip to Ajax.
While both Evra and Giggs played the full 90 minutes in the weekend's highly-charged clash with Liverpool, Berbatov was named as an unused subsititute.
The trio join the long list of United absentees which already includes names such as Nemanja Vidic, Anders Lindegaard, Anderson, Darren Fletcher and Michael Owen.
Better news for United on the injury front, however, is the inclusion of Tom Cleverley who has missed around four months of action this season with an ankle problem.
The 22-year-old has been out since the end of October having limped off in the win over Everton, but resumed full-training just a few weeks ago.
The midfielder was named on the bench in the weekend win over Kenny Dalglish's team, and could well make his United return on Thursday.
Phil Jones and Nani are also in contention having missed the last few games through injury, with the Portugal international taking to Twitter to inform his followers of his availability.
"I'm back with the team, boarding now for Holland and ready to play if necessary," he wrote. "Thank you for all the kind messages that I received."
