Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has opted for an attacking 4-3-3 formation for the visit of two-time European champions Juventus.

Emmanuel Adebayor partners Carlos Tevez and Adam Johnson in a front three, with David Silva dropping to the bench.

Defender Jerome Boateng appears in the starting line-up for the first time since his £10.4 million move from Hamburg, after a late cameo performance against Chelsea at the weekend.

Pablo Zabaleta also continues to deputise for the injured pair Wayne Bridge and Aleksandar Kolarov at left-back.

Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero makes the Juve starting XI while former Arsenal goalkeepr Alex Manninger is between the sticks.
