The Brazilian changed the game with his second-half substitute appearance in Lisbon and feels that his side's Champions League victory was the right reward for their persistence
The Brazilian scored the third goal as Carlo Ancelotti's side overcame Atletico Madrid 4-1 in Lisbon after extra time.
Diego Godin's goal had seen Diego Simeone's side lead for much of the match but Marcelo feels that Los Blancos are worthy European champions, having equalised through Sergio Ramos right at the end of normal time.
"It's an immense joy," he told reporters after sealing 'La Decima'. "We were slow to get it but we know how we fought, how we sacrificed, we left everything on the field to give this joy to the fans.
"To those on the bench, on the pitch, in the stands, it was very nice. At last we're going to Cibeles, I'm very happy.
"There are no words. I can see it on the faces of the people, it's a huge joy. It's for everyone to enjoy, we deserved it."
