The Atletico Madrid skipper believes that the Frenchman was culpable of a late spat with his coach and lamented his side's Champions League final defeat
The Argentine ran onto the pitch during the final stages of extra time after Cristiano Ronaldo had put Carlo Ancelotti's side 4-1 up in the Champions League final.
He remonstrated with the French defender before being sent to the stands and Gabi feels Varane was guilty of being a bad winner.
"You have to know how to win and he is still young," the Atletico midfielder told reporters. "He did an ugly gesture.
"We will keep working and hopefully this isn't our last title. This is football.
"After extra-time, they were justified winners, we had a year of competing like animals and that's the best we could do."
Diego Godin gave Atleti a first-half lead but Sergio Ramos equalised in second-half stoppage-time, before Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Ronaldo secured Madrid's 10th European title.
