Paris Saint-Germain are aiming for Champions League final - Blanc

The PSG boss believes that February will be a crucial month for his side as they look to maintain domestic dominance while establishing themselves as one of Europe's finest
Laurent Blanc believes that February will be the defining month for Paris Saint-Germain as they aim to reach the Champions League final this season.

The Ligue 1 leaders have a five-point cushion at the top of the table, ahead of Monaco, and have progressed in cup competitions both domestically and in Europe.

February sees them face Claudio Ranieri's side away as well as Olympique de Marseille in Paris, while they also take on Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.

Blanc knows that Les Parisiens must maintain their form and believes that, if they come through the month unscathed, they will be in a strong position to mount a challenge for the latter stages of Europe's top competition.

"Our goal is to win all our matches," he told the press ahead of their league match against Nantes. "We want to garner maximum points and respect our opponents.

"February is an important month for us by the number of matches and also by the presence of the Champions League match.

"Our goal at the beginning of season, [in the] Champions League, was to do as well as last year. [Now] we want to aim for the final of the Champions League so that we become one of the best teams in the world."
