Former Germany international Andreas Moller has insisted that Borussia Dortmund have set their sights on Champions League glory this term after making it to the final in 2012-13.

BVB brought in players like Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sokratis during the summer transfer window to further strengthen their squad and Moller feels their heavy spending shows that they mean business in Europe.

"A club does not invest in new players like Dortmund did just to win the DFB Pokal," Moller told Goal.

"Their transfer activity is proof of their ambition to challenge for Champions League glory again. Dortmund made it to the final last season and they want to get there again this term."

Dortmund currently sit joint first in their section with Arsenal and Napoli, yet Moller has stressed that they are still in control of Group F.

"Dortmund need at least 12 points to reach the knockout stages. They still have everything in their own hand. BVB have to win one of the home games against Arsenal or Napoli."

Moller was part of the last Dortmund team to win the Champions League in 1996-97 and made over 200 Bundesliga appearances for the club during his two spells at BVB.
