Following the Catalan side's 4-0 thrashing at the hands of the Bundesliga champions in the Champions League, their former striker is concerned for the future of the team
Guardiola resigned from his post at Camp Nou at the end of last season due to tiredness before starting a year-long sabbatical, only for his impending move to the Bundesliga club to be leaked in January.
Barcelona suffered their heaviest defeat in the Champions League since 1997 after being trounced 4-0 by Bayern in their semi-final first-leg clash at Allianz Arena - and Lineker feels Guardiola’s former club are in a more worrying state than the German side.
"It seems that it's Barcelona who need Guardiola, not Bayern Munich. Bayern are doing very well," Linkeker told Al Jazeera's sports channel.
Tito Vilanova took over from Guardiola at the beginning of the season and is just two wins away from reclaiming the Liga crown from Real Madrid at the first attempt, winning 27 of 32 games league games played so far this term.
