Rooney could miss Manchester United's trip to Galatasaray

The England international continues to recover from tonsillitis and may not travel to Istanbul for the Red Devils' penultimate Champions League group stage fixture
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney could miss the club's Champions League match against Galatasaray on Tuesday evening.

Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that Rooney was set to be assessed by the club's medical staff on Sunday after a bout of tonsillitis ruled him out of the 1-0 defeat against Norwich City.

The manager is likely to make a decision based on Monday's training session before the team's departure for Istanbul.

In goal, however, Anders Lindegaard could continue as David de Gea continues to recover from the removal of two wisdom teeth last week.
