The match-winner against West Brom is rewarded for his two-goal display with a starting berth up front alongside Sergio Aguero the crucial Champions League Group D tie

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has rewarded Edin Dzeko for his match-winning double against West Brom by handing him a starting berth for their crucial Champions League match against Ajax.

The Bosnian netted both goals in his side's dramatic 2-1 turnaround against the Baggies and starts up front alongside fellow recalled front-man Sergio Aguero, with Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli dropping to the bench.

James Milner will be hoping to impress Mancini after his first-half red card at the Hawthrosn meant that City had to play much of the match with 10 men.

City are desperate for three points after a 3-2 loss away to Real Madrid and a last-gasp 1-1 draw at home to Borussia Dortmund left them with just one point from their opening two group-stage games.

As for the hosts, highly rated playmaker Christian Eriksen will be expected to perform as the Dutch giants look for their first points of the group stages.
