Rooney supplied both goals and admitted after the match that it had been a difficult evening for the Red Devils.
“It was obviously a nice goal, a nice finish by Robin and if players make runs I have more chance to pick them out,” he told ITV Sport.

“A silly goal and we need to stop that.”
Rooney started the game alongside both Van Persie and Chicharito and also said he felt his side might have had more goals.
“It’s great to get the first 90 minutes in [after injury], I’ve been working hard and looking forward to getting a run in the team,” he said.
