Antonio Adan: Real Madrid have the responsibility to win against Ajax in the Champions League
The Blancos back-up goalkeeper is hoping to use the game in Amsterdam to impress and insists Jose Mourinho's men will be looking for a victory against the Dutch side
By Stefan Coerts
The young shot-stopper made his Champions League debut this season against Dinamo Zagreb on matchday five, and will again get his chance to impress on Wednesday at the Amsterdam ArenA as first-choice goalkeeper Iker Casillas is rested.
"I've been working a long time to be ready so that fans don't notice Iker is absent when he doesn't play," Adan told reporters.
"I'm ready and the coach has faith in me. This means I'm doing a good job; that's why he's giving me the chance to play.
"It will be special to me and I'm sure I'll be very happy. I've been dreaming about playing a Champions League match against a great side at a famous venue since I was a child and it will come true on Wednesday. It is incredibly important to me."
Adan assured that los Blancos will take the match against Ajax seriously, even though they have already qualified for the last 16 as Group D winners.
He added: "The whole team and I feel the responsibility of having to win in Amsterdam. Our duty is to do a good job whenever we're on the pitch because this club has a great following that deserves that."
