Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey: ‘We want to make the Emirates Stadium our fortress’
The 20-year-old Wales captain feels home form can make the difference for the Gunners and targets further Champions League progression after beating Borussia Dortmund
By George Ankers
The Gunners recorded another victory at the ground by beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on Tuesday night, a win that ensured their qualification for the Champions League knockout stage, and the Welshman is hopeful that they can continue to progress in the competition.
Ramsey stated to the club’s official website: “At home we've done really well and this is the place we want to make our fortress.
“Hopefully that can be the case and I'm sure we've given ourselves a good opportunity now.
“It's a great achievement; we're the first [English] team through and finished first as well. It's something we'll enjoy.
“We'll take it one game at a time. We feel like we can beat anybody at the moment with the form we're in so hopefully we get a good team [in the last 16] and we can progress to the next round.”
Ramsey’s late winner away against Olympique de Marseille in October helped the Gunners reach the top of Group F, one of the 20-year-old’s only two goals so far this season.
