The Basque-born coach says he is happy with a share of the points at home after his team overcame a 1-0 deficit to lock up the score in their group E encounter
Chelsea opened their account at the Mestalla in the 56th minute through a Frank Lampard strike but a penalty from Roberto Soldado in the closing stages of the game saw the home side walk away with a share of the points.
Speaking to the press after the game, Emery commented: “I'm very happy with how the game went and with the attitude of my players, especially as we were up against a great team.
“A draw was a fair result, even more so when you consider the fine performance of our goalkeeper Diego Alves balancing out the good chances we created.
“We are happy with a point. However, we will have to improve in front of goal to pick up all three in future.”
