Cesc Fabregas included in Arsenal's Champions League play-off squad to face Udinese despite Barcelona interest

Midfielder's potential move to the Camp Nou could be in doubt as he would not be able to represent the European champions if he features for Arsene Wenger's side

Cesc Fabregas has been included in Arsenal's Champions League squad for their two-leg play-off tie against Udinese.

The midfielder, who is still being pursued by Barcelona despite Arsenal branding their latest offer as 'far from their valuation', has yet to feature in any of the club's pre-season matches and has been ruled out of their Premier League opener against Newcastle United.

Should Fabregas feature for Arsene Wenger's side in either leg against the Serie A club, the Spaniard will not be able to play for Barcelona in the competition this season should his transfer eventually go through.

Samir Nasri, who has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City, is also included in the squad but is suspended from the first leg, meaning there is more time for a resolution on his future to be found.

Arsenal will host Udinese in the first leg on August 16, while the return fixture in Italy will be played on August 24, just seven days before the transfer window closes.
