Spaniard warns his team-mates not to open the bubbly just yet as he expects the holders to burst back into life for the Champions League return next week

Schalke striker Raul believes Inter won't abandon hope of turning the tables when they return to Germany for the Champions League quarter final second-leg even after losing the first 5-2 at San Siro.

Raul was among the hoard of scorers as he took his European goal haul to 72 in all Uefa club competitions with his strike eight minutes into the second half to help the Royal Blues on their way past an Inter side who collapsed.

"It was an excellent night, but it's still not over," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"Inter are full of champions and we know anything can happen in 90 minutes. They won't give up."

The striker explained the story of the game after his side fell behind with just 27 seconds gone on the clock.

"The first half was balanced and we created plenty. But in the second half we were by far more superior. It's a result we did not expect."

Dejan Stankovic appeared to give his side the perfect start before Matip equalised for Die Knappen. Diego Milito added a second, but it was cancelled out six minutes later when Edu struck.

Raul's strike, an own goal by Andrea Ranocchia and Edu again completed the 5-2 rout.
