Roma will have to play the game of their lives if they are to prevent their Champions League hopes from becoming derailed against Shakhtar, says former Lupi defender Ubaldo Righetti.
The Italian side trail 3-2 on aggregate ahead of tonight's make or break clash at the Donbass Arena, but Righetti hopes their ambitions can be blown back on course if they can produce a "perfect" performance.
Righetti, who played for the Giallorossi between 1980 and 1987, told Goal.com: "It will be a difficult game. Roma have shown in the past they are capable of everything, though.
"Any favourable episode tonight will fix the game and lead Roma towards a new platform. I think they need an excellent performance. Montella's ways of football are fluid, and the Roma players are used to this type of play.
"People like Mirko Vucinic, Francesco Totti and Simone Perrotta can all be decisive. They will need to focus and be perfect."
Righetti won the Scudetto, and three Coppa Italia's during his time with capital giants.
