AC Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini has revealed he apologised to Tottenham's Vedran Corluka for his two-footed challenge on the defender.

Flamini left the ground and with both feet, dived into Corluka, who was taken off on a stretcher and left the stadium requiring crutches. The Franchman also gestured to the home crowd after the tackle.

But Flamini admitted he apologised for the challenge after the match.

"I went to the Totenham dressing rooms to see the physical condition of Corluka and to apologise," Flamini told Sky Sports after the match.

"It is a shame that we lost, as we had a good second-half.

"Now, we must go to London to win. We can do so away from home, as we created many scoring occasions.

"We deserved to win based on our second-half performance," concluded Flamini.
