Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid were paired with Italian giants Milan, Dutch titans Ajax and French side Auxerre on Thursday's Champions League group stage draw in what has already been described as the group of death by many football followers.

Director Emilio Butragueno wasn't too pleased with the results of the draw, but, surprisingly, it was not the presence of Milan that bothered Butragueno most.

"We're not too pleased with the results of the draw. We got some serious opponents from the third and fourth pot and could have had an easier draw," said Butragueno to Spanish newspaper AS.

"Of course, Milan are a strong opponent as well, but we always knew that we would have to deal with at least one big team. The worst thing about the draw is that we got Auxerre from pot four. They're probably the best team from pot four."

Butragueno also took the time to discuss the results of the draw for domestic rivals Barcelona and pointed out that the Catalans got a relatively easy draw.

"Barcelona have ended up in one of the easiest groups. The only problem they have could be the long trip to Russia for the match against Rubin Kazan."
