Omonia Nicosia 1-1 Red Bull Salzburg
The away side picked up an early lead via Gonzalo Zarate after a superb pass from David Mendes da Silva and appeared to be on their way to a crucial away victory. However, Nicosia never stopped fighting and the Cyprus outfit were rewarded with the equaliser in the dying seconds of the match. Lomana Lua Lua found the net from twelve yards after a foul inside the area from Mendes da Silva.
Dynamo Kiev 3-0 AA Gent
The Ukrainian side dominated the match from the first whistle and picked up a deserved lead in the 19th minute. Andriy Yarmolenko tapped home from close range to break the deadlock. Christopher Lepoint then thought to have levelled the score, but his goal was disallowed for alleged pushing of his opponent. Veteran striker Andriy Shevchenko doubled Kiev's lead ten minutes before the final whistle before substitute Roman Zozulya made things even worse for the Belgian side well into stoppage time.
Litex Lovech 1-1 MSK Zilina
Neither of the two teams managed to find the net in the first half, but Zilina playmaker Tomas Majtan gifted the away side the lead with a good halfway the second half. Nevertheless, the Bulgarians weren't impressed too much and Wellington restored parity in the 78th minute. Litech did their utmost to pick up the win in the remainder of the game, but Zilina held on to an important draw.
Unirea Urziceni 0-0 Zenit St. Petersburg

Sparta Prague 1-0 Lech Poznan
The Czech side were the better outfit of the two, but strong defending from Poznan denied the hosts until the 75th minute. However, Erich Brabec then finally managed to beat the Polish shot stopper to help Prague to a narrow 1-0 home victory.
