Neil Warnock: We got what we deserved in Tottenham win

The Elland Road boss decided to celebrate one of his greatest ever cup wins, a 2-1 victory over Spurs at home, with a bottle of champagne and a packet of crisps

Neil Warnock has described Leeds' 2-1 victory over Tottenham in the FA Cup fourth round a "fabulous day" and insisted it was no less than his team deserved.

Leeds took an early lead through Luke Varney, before Ross McCormack doubled the advantage shortly after half-time, rendering Clint Dempsey's header a mere consolation.

The 64-year-old revealed he had to celebrate at his home without his Cornwall-based family but joked that he would still aim to enjoy himself.

"I'm on my own again tonight," said the Leeds boss. "I will open a bottle of champagne and have a few little tipples and I might even treat myself to a bag of crisps.

"It's just a fabulous day for everyone, and not just because we've won the game, and I don't think we got anything more than we deserved.

"To say Bale, Lennon and Parker were in the team and we beat them, that's fabulous."

Leeds will face a fifth round clash away to Manchester City as reward for claiming their third top flight cup scalp this season.
