'Please just give Drogba the VIP suite' - football world reacts as Chelsea beat Liverpool in FA Cup final

A host of the biggest names in the game were glued to their seats at home as Roberto Di Matteo's side triumphed at the national stadium despite Andy Carroll's second-half goal
Chelsea saw off a late Liverpool fightback to claim their sixth FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday.

Ramires gave the Blues the lead after just 11 minutes when he exploited hesitancy in the Reds defence to run through on goal and hammer the goal past Pepe Reina, with Didier Drogba adding a second after the break to claim a record fourth FA Cup final goal, and his eighth in eight appearances at Wembley.

However, with the introduction of Andy Carroll, Liverpool, who were previously lifeless, turned the corner when the tall striker powered a smart finish into the roof of Petr Cech’s net after neat footwork.

The £35 million man thought he had levelled matters with eight minutes remaining, but the referee and his assistant had deemed that the entire ball had not scored the line, with replays inconclusive, and Goal.com is on hand to give you all the best tweets from footballers around the country as the 90 minutes played out.
