TEAM NEWS: Patrice Evra captains Manchester United in FA Cup tie against Liverpool as Wayne Rooney misses out

In the wake of the race row between the Red Devils' left-back and Liverpool's currently banned Luis Suarez, the Frenchman will skipper his side at Anfield
Patrice Evra will captain Manchester United for their trip to Liverpool in the FA Cup at Anfield.

The two clubs meet for the first time since the race row between the Frenchman and Luis Suarez escalated after the 1-1 draw in the league fixture in October.

Suarez remains absent through suspension after he was found guilty of racist abuse but otherwise, Liverpool are largely at full-strength.

They do make four changes from the side that secured a League Cup final spot at Wembley against Manchester City on Wednesday night, however.

Martin Kelly, Jamie Carragher, Maxi Rodriguez and Andy Carroll replace Glen Johnson, Charlie Adam, Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy, respectively.

United travel to Anfield without a host of first-team names. Wayne Rooney, Nani and Phil Jones all miss out alongside long-term absentees Nemanja Vidic, Tom Cleverley and Darren Fletcher.

Sir Alex Ferguson drafts in Rafael, Paul Scholes and Ji-Sung Park for Jones, Nani and Rooney who were all injured against Arsenal last Sunday.

Reina; Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique; Maxi, Henderson, Gerrard, Downing; Carroll.

Subs: Doni, Johnson, Coates, Kuyt, Adam, Shelvey, Bellamy.

Manchester United: De Gea; Rafael, Smalling, Evans, Evra; Valencia, Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Park; Welbeck.

Subs: Lindegaard, Ferdinand, Berbatov, Hernandez, Fabio, M. Keane, Pogba.
