Carlos Tevez has been handed a boost after Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini suggested that he will include the forward in the squad to face Tottenham.
The Argentina striker, who injured his hamstring against Liverpool in April, has been told that he would have to prove his fitness before Saturday's FA Cup final against Stoke if he is to be included in the team to play at Wembley.
"Carlos can probably be on the bench," said Mancini today.
"Zaba [Pablo Zabaleta] doesn't have a big problem, Gareth [Barry] should play against Tottenham and we will recover Micah [Richards]."
City, who succumbed to a 2-1 at Everton on Saturday having led at half-time, can guarantee qualification for the Champions League if they beat Harry Redknapp's side.
