thumbnail Hello,

Dalglish starts his second spell as Reds boss

Kenny Dalglish begins his second spell as manager of Liverpool by fielding a relatively strong squad in the third round of the FA Cup against Manchester United.

The blockbuster clash at Old Trafford sees full-back Glen Johnson missing as his wife is thought to have gone into labour, while Joe Cole is out owing to injury. Martin Kelly slots in at right-back to fill in for the unavailable defender.

The home side's boss Sir Alex Ferguson had previously promised to field a strong line-up, and has promptly called on his best available players for the game.

Tomasz Kuszczak and Javier Hernandez come in for goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar and striker Wayne Rooney, respectively, as the latter duo were slated as doubtful and have now missed the opportunity to take part against their arch-rivals.

Manchester United: Kuszczak; Rafael, Evans, Ferdinand, Evra; Nani, Carrick, Fletcher, Giggs; Hernandez, Berbatov.

Liverpool: Reina; Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Aurelio; Meireles, Lucas, Gerrard, Maxi; Torres, Kuyt.
